SEOUL Hangul & Computer, or Haansoft, has released the much-awaited wordprocessor, Hangul Wordian, which is globally-standardized and comes with new and innovative functions.
According to company officials, the release candidate (RC) version of the Hangul Wordian, due to be officially launched Oct. 9, is designed to meet the needs of the increasing number of Korean personal computer users.
"In the past, our wordprocessors had the problem of not being directly compatible with a number of other software programs used in foreign countries," one senior programmer said.
The Hangul Wordian is able to input and output multiple languages, convert a wide range of documents and perform powerful document editing with new and innovative functions.
"The Hangul Wordian is also compatible with Netoffice Cyberfolder, which holds folders on the Web, and users can save and retrieve Hangul Wordian documents to and from the cyberfolders and manage Hangul files anywhere," he explained.
"Hangul Wordian is not an upgraded version of our exisiting wordprocessors but a totally new product with a new program engine designed to solve all previous problems," said Haansoft CEO Jhun Ha-jin.
He said the new software, not only offers full compatibility with international standards and Internet contents, but offers users numerous easy-to-use functions that makes document editing a cinch.
"While MS Word has a broader range of functions for document editing and wordprocessing, Hangul Wordian is a much more compact and versatile software that supports the finer needs of users," Jhun added.
A total of 60,000 will be able to use the RC version of Hangul Wordian, whose application will be valid and free through the end of this year. The program is available at Haansofts official dealers, at post offices and Internet rooms across the country.
